This VR experience was conceived by We Are Social Paris and produced by the awesome guys over at Backlight Studio for Renault Sport as part of a branding campaign emphasizing innovation and "the zone" through immersive technology.
The Pit Stop Challenge placed participants in a Formula 1 virtual pit crew. Each player donned an HTC Vive headset and worked in sync to change a tire under timed conditions, recreating the high-stakes intensity of a real F1 pit stop. The setup allowed four players to interact in real time, combining physical coordination with VR mechanics to deliver an engaging and memorable experience.
The project was technically executed by Backlight Studio, who handled full production and development. I supported deployment logistics and provided technical maintenance on-site during the Silverstone Grand Prix in 2017 and the French Grand Prix in 2018.
The installation highlighted Renault Sport’s forward-thinking brand identity and was part of a broader campaign strategy to present technology and as central to their performance ethos.
